Karma of Existence: Wall, 2022, Graphite drawing and frottage on Chinese paper, 30 g/m² 3.75 m x 8.71 m This work explores the overwhelming Void emanating from walls that separate us—physically, psychologically, and historically. A rediscovered stone from the Berlin Wall led me to reflect on proximity and distance, on borders that exist not only geographically but also deeply embed themselves in memory and identity. By transferring the surface structure of a wall onto delicate paper, I reveal the fragility of boundaries: they appear as mere phantoms, an illusion of separation. At the same time, the work reflects global crises—ranging from social isolation to political conflicts. The engagement with the Void ultimately leads to questions of identity and existence: What remains when boundaries fall?
